Supermarket Scum

Stop giving me evils!

Those cheeky Yorkshire poofs Tazzy and Piggy are fed up with the Yanks having everything and have decided to have some fun themselves, over in England.

And so Infomaniac introduces you to their new service – Supermarket Scum.

Barnsley locals

Here’s what Taz and Pig have to say about Supermarket Scum

What is it? Well, think of it like the UK version of “People of Walmart”.

Most of us are aware of the American “People of Walmart” website – where images of their clientele are published in all of their gory detail. Well, it’s sadly true that here in Blighty we too suffer this curse – the dregs of society out filling trolleys with crap, dressed to the nines in their finest.

Supermarket Scum is a place to upload those pics you’ve secretly snapped on your mobile or camera of the chavs as they shop. A place to share and ridicule them. A place to let the Yanks know they’re not alone in having such eyesores to contend with in the aisles.

In particular, the chav-scum that visit places such as Asda, Netto and Lidl.

Join us on a journey into the unknown. Or submit any pics you’ve managed to take. Who knows, you might just spot someone you know.

If you’ve spotted a filthy chav out shopping, why not take a pic on your phone and send it to us?

  1. All I have to do is take my camera shopping with me tomorrow in Panama City FL. Oddly enough you also see the world's future super models here. They all come from trailer parks you know...

  2. Isn't Asda, Netto, Lidl, or somesuch actually Walmart by another name?

Oh Hai Pirate & Little Pirate!

  3. XL - Asda was a British company until it was taken over by those cunts Walmart a few years back.

Netto and Lidl are European supermarkets with a presence over here. You can easily identify them by the beaten up cars in the car park and shelves in the store piled high with foreign muck that hasn't even been removed from the packing boxes.

  4. And MJ - thank you for the plug. If all else fails, we'll just post daily pics of yourself and Beast.

  5. LIDL comes from South Germany, Baden-Wuerttemberg, and I think it is still family owned. Netto is a brand of "PLUS", not sure who is behind or whether they stand alone. WalMart is the acronym for the founder, Sam Walton's Market, American, and I think the family is still involved. WalMart had no success in Germany and had to leave.

  7. @ Tazzy & Piggy: Thanks for the info. I absolutely loath Walmart for their rapacious business practices destroying local businesses in small-town America. Bastards.

    @ Savannah: Right on, sister!

  8. I hate the big chain supermarkets.

My Brother and his wife run a small independant grocery sore in a country town. The Two major competetors in Aus are slowly putting the squeeze on the smaller independants to the point where it is now cheaper and more profitable for my brother to purchase his stock from these stores, than it is to order it through the independant chains own wharehouse!
Oh and did I mention that one of the big chains have just purchased 40% of shares in the smaller chain independant! How can the little guy compete on such an uneven playing field? Not when competeing against a colluding duopoly. He opperates under one of the smaller chain store brands that big chainstore now owns 40 % of!!...

I have taken a vow to support the little guy, local butcher, baker greencrocer etc. Farmers markets Fetes and charity stalls/stores.
Vote with your feet. And the long term benfits out weigh the short term convenience or assumed cheaper pricing. You build relationships. support the community and champion the little guy..The pricing with the big guys only seems cheaper cos the big guys screw the local grower or supplier or purvey shitty imports!

  9. BITCHES: So far, aside from an enthusiastic and snap-happy Ayem8y who’s on the wrong continent for Supermarket Scum (though he has an excellent eye for these things), we haven’t heard from any Brits.

I suspect they’re all out shopping at Asda, Netto and Lidl and haven’t read this yet.

Beast is probably stocking up on bananas as we speak.

  11. i adore the brontos scooting around on their little electric thingys, especially the ones that give off tons of attitude. "i'm challenged, so get out of my way!"

just had a thought...maybe walmart could build race tracks in the middle of the stores so their customers could give it a go around and vie for an in-store discount. wagering would be divine....kind of like the dogs, only better.

Ha! Yes, those pictured are the sextuplets.

The twins have probably been pimped out to some other reality show.

  14. Piggy forgets that here in the prosperous south of the UK one has staff to do the shopping

  15. Do you have a Home Bargains in Barnsley? That place is a mecca for filthy chavs and fat scrubberdodgers in mobility scooters all after that elusive bargain.

I've been grocery shopping today in Morrisons, I asked a shelf stacker where the Arborio rice was "Oh I don't really know, I suppose I should, shouldn't I" and laughed nervously as if I've just asked for the circumference of the moon. Anyway she did eventually lead me to the tinned Ambrosia rice pudding. I didn't like to embarrass the lass so I picked up a couple of tins and thanked her.

  16. Hey, those supermarket scums serve a vital function. They remind us that real friends wouldn't let us go out in public looking like that!
